Privacy notice

Last updated: preview build.

Summary

This page is maintained by the InterviewForge team to answer common privacy questions about the product. It describes the current preview build honestly, including where behaviour will change once a backend is connected.

What is stored today

In this preview build, your profile, your interview sessions, your answers and your plan preference are stored in your own browser's local storage. They are not transmitted to a server and are not visible to us.

Clearing your browser storage, or using the reset control in Settings, removes all of it permanently.

Microphone and audio

Microphone access is requested only at the moment you choose to record an answer, never on page load. You can complete every session by typing instead.

The product is designed to keep the transcript and the assessment of an answer, not the raw audio. Recorded audio is not retained after an answer has been processed.

Question audio

Questions are read aloud using your browser's built-in speech synthesis. No audio of the interviewer is downloaded from a third party and no request leaves your device to produce it.

Newsletter

If you subscribe, your email address is used only to send the emails described on the newsletter page. It is not sold or shared, and every email includes an unsubscribe link.

When a backend is connected

A hosted version will store profiles, sessions and subscriptions in a managed database with row-level access rules so that a user can only read their own records. Payment details, if a provider is added, would be held by that provider and never by us.

This notice will be updated before any such change takes effect, and it should be reviewed by legal counsel prior to commercial launch.

Your choices

You can delete everything at any time from Settings, decline microphone access entirely, and unsubscribe from email with one click. Requests about your data can be sent to the support address in your account area.
